JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In the last two months, three former prosecutors have rejoined the State Attorney’s Office.

Jessica Klingensmith

Jessica Klingensmith started work at the SAO in January 2009. In March 2012, she left and took a job with the State Attorney’s Office in Tallahassee. Klingensmith returned to the SAO in Jacksonville last week. Klingensmith graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice and the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Legal Studies. She is a 2005 graduate of the Barry University School of Law.
Joe Licandro

Joe Licandro

Joe Licandro worked at the SAO from May 2007 until September 2011, when he decided to take a job with a private law firm. Licandro left private practice and returned to the SAO in April 2012. Licandro graduated from Notre Dame in 2004, with a B.A. in Political Science. He graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2007.
Alexis Sykes

Alexis Sykes

Alexis Sykes joined the SAO in October 2007. She left in May 2011, to work for the State Attorney’s Office in Miami. In April 2012, Sykes returned to the SAO in Jacksonville. Sykes graduated from Florida State University in 2004, with a B.S. in Criminology. She is a 2007 graduate of the Howard University School of Law.

“These are three of our finest lawyers, and we are thrilled to have them back to prosecute cases in the Fourth Judicial Circuit,” said State Attorney Angela Corey.

Klingensmith and Sykes are prosecuting homicide and major cases. Licandro is based in the special prosecution unit.
