MAN FOUND GUILTY OF ARMED ROBBERY, FALSE IMPRISONMENT, GRAND THEFT AUTO
State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that David Christopher King, 58, of Jacksonville, was found guilty by a jury of Armed Robbery, False Imprisonment, and Grand Theft Auto. King now faces mandatory life in Florida State Prison as a Prison Releasee Reoffender. A sentencing hearing is scheduled before the Honorable Mark Borello the week of June 19, 2017.
According to court documents, testimony, and evidence presented at trial, in April 2016, King forced his way into the bedroom of a Prisoners of Christ administrator, who resided on the premises. King grabbed the administrator’s throat and threatened to kill him with a knife if the administrator did not give him money. King then tied the administrator’s wrists together with a telephone cord and stole the victim’s wallet, watch, cellphone, and vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered and King was detained.
The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and has been prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Leah Allison Hogg and Korey Milo.
