HARDY FOUND GUILTY OF AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, THROWING DEADLY MISSILES
State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Damon Hardy was found guilty by a jury of Aggravated Assault, Throwing Deadly Missiles, and Criminal Mischief. The Honorable James Daniel will sentence Hardy during a Dec. 16, 2021, hearing.
On July 30, 2020, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office met with the victim and witness regarding a reported dispute. The victim and witness went to a home on Terry Road to pick up the victim’s belongings. While they did so, Hardy arrived and began to yell at them. Hardy made violent threats and, while the victim and witness were attempting to leave in their vehicle, Hardy threw a three-foot piece of fence post at the driver’s front window. The post broke the window and became lodged, inches from hitting the victim. The officer observed the fence post and damage to the car and issued an arrest warrant for Hardy, who was later apprehended.
The case was investigated by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Susan Haag.
